There are many instances in all of our experiences where we have been frustrated by unnecessary complexity and confusion when attempting to complete forms. As an example, sections of some forms do not apply to every situation or to every individual completing the form. If a simple "Yes/No" question could eliminate the presentation of an entire section of the form, this would result in less confusion, less frustration, and fewer errors.

The genius behind the TurboCourt programs is their ability to tackle any combination of complex life scenarios, match them to the requirements of any number of intricate and often confusing legal forms, and present the user with a simple, logical series of questions that get right to the heart of the matter - with no need for entering duplicate information - and educating the user as they go along.

User Interface

• Questions are primarily Yes/No or multiple choice, providing the user with an easy set of decisions
• A literacy consultant reviewed all text to ensure readability
• A Section Status Bar and a Page List show the user exactly where they are throughout the interactive process and provide multiple navigation tools
• Answer once - Information that is required on several forms is asked only once - the programs automatically determine where each piece of data is required on each form and then disperse that data to the appropriate fields

Comprehensive Help

• A visual Tutorial quickly shows the user everything they need to know to use the program - making it simple even for those not accustomed to the Internet Tutorial Image
• An Introduction page gives the user an overview of the process they are about to embark on, including helpful tips and a list of personal information items the user needs in order to answer the questions

Advanced Functionality

• Sections and questions are dynamically displayed to the user based on their previous responses - presenting the user only those questions that are relevant to their specific situation, and following a logical path Dynamic Questions Illustration
• Automatic data validation ensures that the user answers questions accurately. For example, if the user indicates their date of divorce occurred prior to their date of marriage, the program alerts the user to the error and requires that they correct it before proceeding.
• Automatic calculations of critical, required information means the user does not have to figure out complex pieces of data, ensuring forms are completed accurately.
  • Example 1: In Family Law, the program automatically calculates the percentage of time each parent spends with the children, regardless of how the time spent is provided (hours/days per week/month/year). Automatic Calculation Illustration

The Resulting Forms

• Based on the user's responses, the programs automatically determine which forms and attachments need to be generated. List of Forms Illustration
• Each form's fields are properly filled out with all required information properly formatted according to its data type - be it a box that needs to be checked, a date, a dollar amount, phone number or zip code + 4. Sample Completed Form Illustration
• Required Attachment forms are automatically generated and filled out.
• If the user provides information that does not fit on the main forms, such as a lengthy explanation or a long list of parties involved, the programs automatically generate Attachment forms with the overflow information, listing the main form and question number for easy reference.
• Links to other related forms not required that may be relevant to the user are provided so the user can print them and fill them out as needed.

In California, all forms generated are the most recently approved Judicial Council forms.

Outside California, easy modification of the interactive questionnaire allows for adaptation to any state's required forms.
