IFP Interactive Forms Processing
There are many instances in all of our experiences where we have been frustrated by unnecessary complexity and confusion when attempting to complete necessary forms. As an example, sections of some forms do not apply to every situation or to every individual completing the form. If a simple "Yes/No" question could eliminate the presentation of an entire section of the form, this would result in less confusion, less frustration, and fewer errors.
INTRESYS, a Silver-Level Government Partner of Adobe® Systems, has developed a form-definition and form processing toolset to develop simple question and answer sessions of complex forms for deployment over Intranet or Internet to meet this business need.
Interactive Forms Processing (IFP) is a generalized toolset that supports the development and deployment of interactive Web-based completion and handling of complex forms. While IFP had its origins in the Web presentation of legal forms, the general nature of the tools lends itself to a broad application of tasks and processes. The IFP technology has applications in every case where users are presented with a complex set of choices represented as a form or series of forms.
IFP can be embedded into any online process that interacts with users over the Web to solicit input. Applications for Services, Financial Aid Applications, Purchase Request, Budget Request, and HR Self-Service represent examples of the types of processes into which the IFP engine could be embedded.
The result? Clients have reported a savings of 45% in counter time as users complete their own forms. Improvements in accuracy, and reductions in the need to re-do forms result in further savings. Real return on technology investments.
